A unique combination of two Hall of Famers, Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain and Coach Frank McGuire, graced the cover of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED in 1961. McGuire had moved from coaching the University of North Carolina Tar Heels to the NBA Philadelphia Warriors, serving as Wilt's head coach in the historic season that Wilt averaged 50.4 points per game and had his mind-blowing 100 point game against the Knicks.
This dual-signed photo is in blue Sharpie with Coach McGuire's signature written just below Wilt's autograph. McGuire passed away in 1994 and Chamberlain in 1999.
The photo has Beckett Encapsulation and is from the Jerry Ankenbauer Collection.
