The Los Angeles Angels were thrilled to pick up the pitching and hitting phenom, Shohei Ohtani before the 2019 season began. His initial performances for the club were so impressive, pundits were beginning to whisper comparisons to the Bambino himself. After a devastating injury and a surgically repaired elbow (Tommy John's), Ohtani returned for the shortened 2020 season. Ohtani's playing days began in his home country of Japan and he is adored and beyond superstardom back home. His former professional ball club was the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.

This Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters away jersey features a unique design with baby blue primary coloring. “Hokkaido” is spelled across the chest of the button-up jersey with another “Nippon-Ham” advertisement logo on the upper left-hand chest. The left sleeve features the team's logo while the right sleeve highlights a few more advertising patches. Ohtani autographed the jersey in bold, black permanent marker underneath the “Hokkaido” logo to create a beautiful display piece. This lot is accompanied by an LOA from Beckett Authentication Services (Cert. #: A27264).
