The tumultuous marriage of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe lasted all of nine months, from January to October of 1954. Presented here is a highly desirable dual-signed Martin Beck Theatre Playbill for The Teahouse of the August Moon, a comedic play by John Patrick. Their marriage was holding on for dear life when the two mega-celebrities presumably attended this Broadway play together on W. 45th Street in New York City in September of '54. (According to page 19, it opened at Martin Beck the week of Monday, Sept. 13.) Each has beautifully signed the cover in crisp 8-9/10 blue ballpoint. The 33-page Playbill comes in EX overall condition with a small section of the back cover missing. The binding is still intact with some yellow toning (possibly from tape). The pages on the inside are in terrific shape with no tears and no pen or pencil marks. Based on the horizontal crease across the middle, it appears the 6.5" by 9" program was folded down from the top at one point. If only Playbills could talk, this one would surely have some interesting gossip to share. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (W02198).
