This was the game that sparked the beginning of what would eventually lead to football becoming the sports juggernaut that it is today. The game was televised widely on December 28,1958 and featured the Baltimore Colts vs. Johnny Unitas and the New York Giants. This would be the first game to ever conclude in a sudden-death playoff thanks to Unitas' vintage 2-minute drill heroics. The Colts went on to win the game 23-17 at Yankee Stadium in front of 64,185 rabid fans. Shortly thereafter, teh AFL arrived with the Super Bowl following closeley after.
