Take home this rare 1912 Helmar Leather Premium featuring Ed Walsh throwing a baseball. These super rare 10x12" leathers were run from 1912-1914 through a special mail in offer that expired June 1, 1914. A gift slip was included with a pack of Turkish Trophies or Helmar cigarettes and were good for one-cent or could be returned for gifts that were listed on the back. Each of these leathers was good for 35 of such gift slips. Other presents included Hamilton King Girls, National Flags, Actresses, Actors, College mascots, College Shields with Seals, Generals or Indians and of course, Baseball players. All of the 25 baseball player designs were available on Satin(S81 silks) or leather.

This high grade design was created by renowned artist Hamilton King. King designed the 25 sketches of the popular baseball players. This #132 Ed Walsh includes a portrait of the hall of fame pitcher throwing the baseball with "Walsh" and "Chicago Amer." just below. The silk presents in MINT condition and was most certainly once used as a decorative novelty in someone's home.
