The American Caramel Company's first E121 issue in 1921 featured 80 cards, jumping to a parallel of 120 cards in 1922 plus an E120 series of 240 produced in colors. The game of baseball was at a crossroads as it entered the 1920's, and so were its two biggest stars, Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth. One man had thrived during the Dead Ball Era, while the other was ready to put it in the rearview mirror. The 1922 E121 American Caramel Series of 120 included two famous portraits of the Georgia Peach. Presented here is his "Batting" pose graded PSA VG 3. The waist-high portrait is a classic representation of the unqiue manner in which Cobb gripped his bat. Centering is solid (just a tad to the right), borders are clean, player image is very sharp, and print is bold front and back. Bottom corners are slightly more rounded than the tops. Back is super clean. There is a diagonal crease on the top right corner that is visible on the back as well. Part of the recent "Yahtzee Box Find."
