Presented here is a super rare on-site program from the 1965 Lewiston, Maine heavyweight championship rematch fight between Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston. The black and white program is highlighted by patriotic red-white-and-blue American flag illustrations on the front and back covers, with career highlights of both boxers on the inside. This very scarce program is perhaps the rarest of all Clay/Ali programs. Its scarcity is due to the fact that the original November 1964 fight date in Boston, Massachussetts had to be canceled following Ali's emergency hernia surgery. The promoters were forced to relocate to a small auditorium in Lewiston, Maine. Due to the remote location, well over one hundred miles from Boston, fewer than 2,500 fans were in attendance, setting the record for the smallest crowd ever to watch a Heavyweight Championship bout. The program presents in NM-MT condition with mild cover wear with some yellowing and soling along the edges. The images of both fighters are crystal clear and the colors of the American flag are bright and flashy.
