This lot offers a great trio of Blake Griffin game-worn basketball gear in Detroit Pistons shorts, a Detroit Pistons shooting shirt and Detroit Pistons snap-away warm-up pants. The grey XL Nike shooting shirt has a large Detroit Pistons logo in the center and a Nike logo in the upper right chest section while “Motor City” is featured on the upper back. The game-worn shooting shirt remains in excellent condition. The snap-away warm-up pants are size XL Tall and show a large Detroit Pistons logo on the right pocket. The size 40 Detroit Pistons “Motor City” edition shorts are in excellent condition and were worn across 18 games in the 2018-19 NBA season. All items are inscribed “23” on the NBA Authentic jock tag, presumably by the team’s equipment manager denoting Blake Griffin’s number. Each item has January - March ‘18 manufacture date tags. Griffin averaged 23.2 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 5.5 APG in the 2018-19 NBA season.
Provenance: This lot along with several others in this auction comes from the personal collection of a very reliable source with close ties to the NBA and its players.
