Metta World Peace (birth name, Ron Artest) is truly one of the most unique individuals to ever play in the NBA. Whether or not you agree with his on and off-court behavior, one thing is for sure: he will go down as one of the most tenacious and feared defenders in NBA history. Earlier in his career when he played for the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings, Artest could light up the scoreboard at around 18 points a night. By the time he arrived in Los Angeles to play alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, Artest served as a key defensive stopper and enforcer who did whatever it took for his team to win. And the Lakers won their 2nd straight NBA title in his first season with the team.

Offered here is a game used “Sunday Whites” Los Angeles Lakers jersey from the 11’-12’ campaign, the first season after Artest officially changed his name to Metta World Peace. The 2XL +2 length Adidas Climacool jersey features “World Peace” across the back as well as the number “15”. The jersey is in great condition showing light game wear.

Provenance: This lot along with several others in this auction comes from the personal collection of a very reliable source with close ties to the NBA and its players. His unique VIP access has allowed him to acquire hundreds of game-used and autographed items including heavily coveted sneakers and jerseys.
