In 2003 the Utah Jazz commissioned Brian Challis to create 1-½ life-size sculptures of John Stockton and Karl Malone for their home arena, the Delta Center. On March 30, 2005, this huge sculpture was unveiled to the fans of Utah. The Jazz wanted to give their fans a chance to own a miniature version of the actual sculpture outside the arena. Artist, Brian Challis created an exact replica out of bronze of both Basketball Hall of Famers, John Stockton and Karl Malone. A 1/8 life-size sculpture was sold as a set in an edition of 200. According to the artist, 111 of each set were actually cast. The team originally sold each sculpture for a reported $2500 apiece, which proved to be a price point that your average fan wouldn’t pay. Ron Boone was fortunate enough to be gifted a set by the Jazz, hence the offering being sold in two separate lots. We’ve never seen any of these come up for public sale, as the Utah Jazz only initially offered these when they were issued and then removed them from the gift shop. This piece is numbered 87/200 (remember only 111 have ever been made) and measures 10 1/2" tall, 12" long and 6" wide and weighs 7 lbs. Lot is accompanied by a Ron Boone LOA.
