He’ll forever be known as the courageous man who broke baseball's color line with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. There have been countless books written and even a few movies made about him. Robinson material is always in demand whether among baseball or American history collectors. Jackie is one of those must-have autographs. Offered here is a spectacular vintage 8x10 close-up portrait of Robinson in his Brooklyn Dodgers cap, signed neatly against his white uniform in blue ballpoint ("7/8-10"). It has the appearance of an original studio photograph based on the glossy front and blank back, but we are not sure if it is a first (Type I) or second generation (Type II). What makes this photo special is that Robinson, when found in autographed photo format, is often seen with a personalized inscription. This photograph is absent of that. An fantastic, joyful portrayal of the historic figure who broke Major League Baseball's color barrier and opened doors for so many people of color across all sports and various walks of life. Encapsulated "Authentic" in a PSA/DNA jumbo holder.
