This ancient lot features an even dozen cards from the 1911 T205 Gold leaf border card set with three graded by SGC. All originated from “Sweet Caporal” American Tobacco packs. Graded cards are Hall of Famers Fred Clarke (red back) in SGC GOOD 2, Clark Griffith in SGC VG 3, and the always coveted Cy Young in a very respectable SGC VG-EX 4. Ungraded cards include Robert Bescher, John A Pfiester, Richard Egan, John Hummell, Frank Lang, William Bailey, James Delahanty (red back), Fred Payne (red back) and Louis Evans (red back). All nine of these appear in roughly the same condition range as the three graded examples, with the exception being the Louis Evans which has some paper loss and toning/staining on the back (refer to photos). Terrific early 20th century tobacco card grouping.
