The international Brazilian football team is one of the most decorated in the World and has produced some of the finest players the world has ever seen. Over the course of their 105 years in existence, they've achieved World Cup glory 5 times and have won the Southamerican/Copa America on 9 occasions. Some of their world class superstars include the likes of Pele (Arguably the GOAT), Ronaldo, Romario and Neymar. Football has continued to grow and conquer the globe as the most watched sport and we can expect to see more stars and championships from the Brazilians in due time.
Presented here is a FIFA Centennial match gold medal awarded to players and members of the CBF on May 20, 2004. The match was kind of a dud with a 0-0 draw between France and Brazil but the medal is certainly something to boast about. This 5oz. beauty measures 7cm in diameter and presents in NM-MT condition on one side but GOOD-VG on the obverse. The NM-MT front has "France Bresil Paris - St Denis 20 mai 2004" in black print in the center with "FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION" elevated around the perimeter.  The obverse features the FIFA logo front and center with a "100 YEARS" ribbon running accross the lower middle section just above elevated "1904-2004."  According to the consignor the corrosion on the obverse is due to the medal being exposed to the elements for over a decade in a Brazilian beach home.
Comes in its original presentation case. Includes LOA from Brazil National Team (CBF) Technical Coordinator, who is also the nephew of former CBF President Ricardo Teixeira.
