Wilt Chamberlain is arguably the best basketball player and greatest physical specimen that the NBA has ever seen. With his 7’1” stature during his playing career from 1959-1973, he was often the tallest player on the court, able to dominate any opponents that got in his way. The list of accolades and records go on-and-on anywhere from his unbeatable 100-point game to averaging 50.4 PPG for an entire season. Chamberlain was a one-of-a-kind player in the NBA and we won’t be seeing anyone as dominant as he was in the near future.
Offered here is a fresh to the market and extremely rare circa 1953-55 original photo of Wilt Chamberlain during his high school days at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A unique photo captured of Wilt playing the wonderful game at a much younger age than most of his photos. The photo titled, “Stuffing It Through” shows Chamberlain towering over his defenders and throwing the ball through the hoop for a strong slam dunk. Wilt may have surprised a lot of his opponents in the mid-1950s, standing 6’11” at the time and easily able to dunk, something most high schoolers had not had to defend up until this point. The original photo is in excellent condition with a clear picture. This may be one of the earliest photos in existence of Wilt dunking the basketball. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as Type 1 Authentic (Certification #: 84178441).
