Presented here is Alex Rodriguez’s Rawlings fielder’s glove that he used throughout the entire 2008 season for the Yankees. New York finished with a strong 89-73 record, yet failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 1993. A-Rod had another stellar campaign, batting .302 with 35 home runs, 103 RBI and 104 runs. On September 21, 2008, the Yankees played their final home game at Old Yankee Stadium, winning 7-3 over the Baltimore Orioles. This glove has been professionally photo-matched to that special day, the final game ever played at "The House That Ruth Built" [in 1923].

The black leather glove features the Rawlings logo on the outside of the left thumb as well as a Rawlings tag sewn on the top of the wrist. “A-Rod” is embroidered next to the Rawlings logo in black stitching. “The Gold Glove Co.” tag is sewn on the pinky finger below a black stitched “Rawlings”  on the index finger slot. The Rawlings glove is inscribed on the fingers of the palm side with “Game Used 2008 Season 9/21/08” and “Final Game At Yankee Stadium” along with his signature in silver permanent marker. This historic glove shows heavy game use from the shortstop-turned third-baseman, and as collectors well know, a ballplayer's glove is his most sacred piece of equipment. This lot is accompanied by an LOA from Alex Rodriguez himself. Includes Resolution Photomatching LOA (ID: RA040819) with the conclusive photo-match to the important 9/21/08 game. Accompanied by a full LOA from Beckett (A53533)
