Younger fans remember Bill Buckner from his error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, but those a bit older recall that throughout the 1970s and early ‘80s “Billy Buck” was the spark behind several great Dodgers and Cubs teams as well as the 1980 NL batting champ. Buckner wore this jersey during the 1974 season with the Dodgers in which he batted .314 with 30 doubles to help lead LA to the NL pennant. In the ’74 World Series, Buckner batted .250 with a home run in the Dodgers’ loss to Oakland.

This Bill Buckner 1974 game-worn road gray jersey has the famous “Dodgers” script across the front in blue tackle twill with Buckner’s number “22” below in bright red. A white strip tag in the lower left front tail has “Set 2 ‘74” in blue chain stitching and a size 42 W.A. Goodman & Sons label is sewn inside the collar. The back of the jersey has “BUCKNER” above his number “22” in blue tackle twill. The jersey shows outstanding evidence of game use, with many turf scuffs, pine tar stains and the expected wear and tear found on the jersey of the hard-nosed ballplayer who would finish his great career just 285 hits shy of the elite 3,000 Club. Includes LOA from Sports Collectors Digest graded a perfect A10 by Troy Kinunen (now with MEARS) and Dave Bushing.
