Presented here is a lovely pairing of 2014 FIFA World Cup participatory items given to a member of the Brazil National Team (CBF, Brazilian Football Confederation). Hosted by Brazil, the 2014 World Cup was won by Germany (their 4th title) who defeated Argentina, 1-0, in the Final. The host nation finished in fourth after suffering one of their worst ever losses to Germany in the Semifinals, a 7-1 thrashing that also saw Brazil lose its star, Neymar, to a serious back injury. In the third place game, Brazil was shut out, 3-0, by the Netherlands.

The miniature gold-washed replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy (174 g) stands 10-1/2" cm tall on a 4 cm by 3-1/2 cm base with a plaque reading "FIFA World Cup Brasil" below an emblazoned logo of the 2014 tournament. The rear side of the base has a "SONY OFFICIAL PARTNER" labeled plaque. The trophy is housed in its official black presentation box (14-by-7 cm) stamped with the Sony brand and the 2014 World Cup logo in white. Presents NM-MT with light handling.

The accompanying medal is the same version presented to players participating in the tournament, with the exception of the missing top loop and ribbon. The obverse features a relief image of the 2014 World Cup Brazil logo with "FIFA World Cup Brasil" and a tiny stamping of the manufacturer ("R. C."). The reverse has a relief image of the World Cup trophy with an athletic figure holding up his arms in victory and text at the top reading "2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil." The medal (diameter 50 mm; weight 60 g) appears to be made of gold-plated silver or bronze. Presents NM with some scratches and marks from handling. (As a reference point, one of these medals recently sold for $1,280 at auction.)

These medals and mini trophies were only issued to players, coaches, team executives and important FIFA officials. Each of these items includes an LOA from the son of the Brazil National Team's longtime kitman.
