The 2002 FIFA World Cup was shared by hosts South Korea and Japan, with Yokohama’s International Stadium hosting the final match between Brazil and Germany to decide the best football team in the world. Brazil, who knocked off Turkey 1-0 in the semis, defeated a strong German team, 2-0, in the Finals thanks to a brace from Ronaldo. South Korea finished fourth after losing to Turkey in the third place game, but the proud Asian country became the first outside of Europe and the Americas to reach the final four of a World Cup.

Offered here is a gold participation medal from the 2002 FIFA World Cup issued to a member of the Brazilian National Team. It is the same version presented to players from the winning team, with the exception of the top loop and ribbon. The obverse features a relief image of the 2002 World Cup KOREA/JAPAN logo with a tiny stamping of  maker "G.D.E. BERTONI ITALY". The reverse has a relief image of the famous Jules Rimet World Cup Trophy with an athletic figure holding up his arms in victory. The medal (diameter 50 mm; weight 44 g) seems to be made of a high-quality silver or bronze with gold-plating. Presents nearly Mint and comes in its original blue Bertoni presentation case.

These medals were only issued to players, coaches and important team officials. Comes with LOA from a longtime Brazil National Team coordinator.
