Hall of Fame quarterback and kicking legend George Blanda wore this Oakland Raiders jersey during his 26th and final season in 1975. By then Blanda’s primary duties for Oakland were on the kicking front and he nailed 13 of 21 field goals that year.  His final appearance on an NFL field came in the AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He held an NFL record for most career points at the time of his retirement and is still the oldest player to ever appear in an NFL game at age 48.

Offered in this lot is Blanda’s black game-worn Raiders home jersey from his final campaign, exhibiting moderate use with evidence of some scratches and scuff marks on the numbers. This “V” neck mesh style jersey with 3/4 length sleeves has Blanda’s number “16” sewn on the front, back and both shoulders. “BLANDA” appears on the the reverse side of the jersey. The Medalist/Sandknit tagging dates to the 1975-79 era. The bottom tag has the number “16” handwritten in bold sharpie. Includes LOA from MEARS graded A9. According to MEARS, it would grade a perfect A10 if not for containing some adhesive residue from where it was once mounted for display. All in all, a wonderful gamer from a true gridiron gamer in every sense of the word.
