Edward Trowbridge Collins was the cornerstone of Connie Mack's fabled $100,000 infield with the Philadelphia Athletics and is considered by many to be the greatest second baseman of all-time. One of the finest hitters of his day, Collins hit over .300 in 19 of his 25 seasons and finished his career in 1930 with a .333 lifetime average and 3,315 hits. He was a six-time World Series champion, 4-time AL stolen base leader and won the league MVP in 1914, the year the A's finished off their third title in four years.

Offered here is an Eddie Collins Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger "40K" professional model bat dating to the 1921-25 label period when Collins played for the Chicago White Sox. The vintage lumber has a "Kork Grip" stamp next to the H&B center brand; however, none of the cork remains on the handle. The bat measures 36" and weighs just under 38 oz. and shows heavy use throughout. A handle cracked has been professionally repaired. Includes MEARS Auction LOA.
