ADDENDUM: Year range and bat grade listed in catalog are inaccurate. It is a 1984 bat graded GU 8.5.

The late, great Tony Gwynn was arguably the best pure hitter in baseball history. With eight National League batting titles to his credit and a career .338 average, Gwynn was an easy first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee into Cooperstown in 2007. In 20 different MLB seasons, he never struck out more than 40 times in any one campaign. He was also a perennial All-Star Game selection and started in 15 Mid-Summer Classics. Featured here is one of the bats "Mr. Padre" swung in 1988 when he won his third of eight NL batting crowns.

The Louisville Slugger Tony Gwynn professional model K55 bat is un-cracked with evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks are visible on the right, left and front barrel. Ball marks include black ink transfers. Cleat marks can be seen on the front barrel. Also visible on barrel are green bat rack streak and contact streaks from other bats. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper handle. Gwynn's player number (19) and model number (K55) are on the knob and top of the barrel. Gwynn has signed the upper barrel in bold black pen. Comes from an esteemed Padre/Gwynn collector. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with a GU 8.5 grade (1B17872). Full LOA from PSA/DNA for autograph (AG10610).
