The late, great Roger Maris was a remarkable outfielder and power hitter for both the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals who is the man responsible for breaking Babe Ruth’s longstanding (34-year-old) record of 60 home runs in a single season. In 1961, Maris launched 61 round-trippers to break The Bambino’s mark and set the baseball world on fire. This lot features a single-signed, medium toned ONL (Feeney) baseball autographed in blue felt tip ink by Maris on the west panel. His large signature remains strong and legible with light bleeding and would rate a solid 8/10 in our book. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG01595).
