Featured here is William "Red" Holzman's Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Ring presented to him upon his 1986 induction. Known primarily for his long coaching tenure with the New York Knicks, Holzman starred at CCNY in the early 1940s and enjoyed a successful professional career with the Rochester Royals where he won two championships (NBL and NBA) as a player before taking the reigns as player/coach of the Milwaukee Hawks in 1953-54. After a coaching stint with the St. Louis Hawks, Red served as an assistant with the Knickerbockers before eventually taking over as the Knicks head man in '67 and led the embattled franchise to their only two NBA titles in 1970 and '73, cementing his status as a legend in the Big Apple. He retired from the Knicks in 1982 and did not have to wait long for enshrinement in Springfield, Mass.

The 10-karat gold ring, made by Balfour, boasts a CZ at the center atop a small gold wreath and red stone backdrop, encircled by the words "Basketball Hall of Fame." On one side is "HOLZMAN" atop a figural relief of two players contesting for the ball. On the other shank is "1986" above a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame shield emblem. The inside of the band is stamped "LGB 10K". The size 10 ring shows moderate to heavy wear and comes with three ribbons (two blue, one red with year of induction) as well as an official Basketball Hall of Fame patch. Includes LOA from the Holzman family.
