The late Kirby Puckett was one of the most beloved Minnesota Twins in the franchise's history. He not only led them to their very first World Series title in 1987 over the St. Louis Cardinals, but helped them repeat four years later by ousting the N.L. Champion Atlanta Braves in seven games. Puckett, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001, passed away at age 45 on March 6, 2006. A six-time Gold Glove winning center fielder and career .318 batter, Puckett will always be remembered for his World Series heroics, which included launching the game-winning home run in Game 6 of the 1991 Fall Classic. He remains the Twins' all-time leader in career hits, runs and doubles and total bases. This lot features one of Puckett's game-used bats from the 1993 and '94 seasons, a pair of campaigns in which he batted .296 and .317, respectively, and drove in a combined 201 runs.

This 35-inch, 31.2 ounce Louisville Slugger model P116 Kirby Puckett professional model bat is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are streaks from contact with other bats and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Puckett's number (34) is written on the knob and top barrel in black marker. "Win" is also written on the knob in black marker.  LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU 8.5).
