This remarkably detailed 8” by 10” black and white photograph shows Mickey Mantle engaging in a bit of small ball. The crisp visual elements of this action shot are simply superb. The nature of the image is intriguing, as the strapping Mantle had little use for the bunt in his career, as he went on to slug 536 home runs. Markings on the reverse include a New York Times photographers stamp and identifying image details pinpointing the shot to a September 24, 1968 game vs. Detroit at Yankee Stadium. NM condition.
