Fred Girard Haney touched all the bases in a 65-year baseball career that led him from athletic stardom in high school to the general manager’s office of the Los Angeles Angels. Along the way, he was a player, coach, scout, World Series-winning manager, broadcaster, and general manager. On the field Fred was a fierce competitor, disputing calls and plays with opponents, umpires, and fans. Off the field he was a devoted family man, with many lifelong friends and a heart for charitable works, particularly those involving youth, veterans, and baseball. Collectors need little reminding about the baseball accomplishments of Mickey Mantle.
The offered ONL (Giles) baseball features vintage 1960’s era signatures of both Mantle on the sweet spot and Haney on a side panel. Signatures each rate 9/10 on a very fresh looking ball for its age. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
