Presented here is a gift from Christy Walsh, the dean of Sports Agents in the pre-war era, to the greatest manager of his generation Joe McCarthy. This interesting relic dates from 1941, and features an OAL (Harridge) baseball inscribed "1941 World Series" signed by 10 members of the 1941 World Champion Yankees. The 1941 Yanks went 101-53 before beating the Brooklyn Dodgers 4 games to 1 in the World Series. The season also saw Joe DiMaggio immortalize himself with his miraculous 56-game hitting streak. Among the signatures is a vintage DiMaggio, Chas. Ruffing (sweet spot), Earle Combs, Frank Crosetti, Tom Henrich, and Bill Dickey. The signatures of Lefty Gomez and Joe McCarthy are clubhouse. The ball is attached to a wooden blotter (stamp side down) with "Compliments of Christy Walsh" and "Joe McCarthy" stamped in gold leaf. The ball is slightly toned in VG-EX condition with signatures averaging 5-6/10. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA (AG01409)
