This vintage 1936 New York Yankees large format photo (16.25” by 10.5”) is autographed by seven esteemed members of their 1936 World Champions squad, highlighted by Joe DiMaggio from his rookie season along with Lou Gehrig. The Bronx Bombers returned to form in ‘36, winning 102 regular season games and claiming their first of four straight World Series titles. Standing in a row before a game at Yankee Stadium, the seven players are depicted with bats in hand. From left to right is DiMaggio (HOF), Frank Crosetti, Tony Lazzeri (HOF), Bill Dickey (HOF), Gehrig (HOF), Jake Powell and George Selkirk. Each has signed his appropriate likeness vertically along their pinstriped uniform pants in black ink averaging 5/10 in strength and eye appeal. The boldest signatures are Gehrig (6/10) and Lazzeri (7/10). The original photograph displays outstanding quality (EX-MT) with relatively sharp corners and straight edges. It has some minor wrinkles but no significant creases or tears.
