The 1946 New York Yankees, under a trio of managers during the season (Joe McCarthy, Bill Dickey and Johnny Neun), won 87 games to finish third in the pennant. Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto and Joe Gordon returned from war service to give the team a spark, but it was not enough as the Red Sox represented the American League in the Fall Classic. This '46 team ball boasts 15 autographs including Spud Chandler on the sweet spot, Charlie Keller, George Stirnweiss, Johnny Lindell, Tommy Henrich, Harry Craft, Randy Gumpert, Don Savage, John Schulte, Ken Silvestri, and Hall of Famers Rizzuto, Dickey, DiMaggio, Gordon and McCarthy.
