The 1943 New York Yankees went 98-56 to claim their 14th pennant and avenged their loss to St. Louis in the previous Fall Classic by beating the Cards in five games to become World Champions. The team, without star centerfielder Joe DiMaggio while he served in WWII, had six All-Stars including future Hall of Famers Joe Gordon and Bill Dickey, both of whom signed this ball (25 total autographs). Other notable pens include Spud Chandler, Charlie Keller, Johnny Murphy, George Stirneiss, Tiny Bonham, Crosetti, Lindell, Turner, Byrne, Borowy, Etten, Fletcher, Grimes, Hemsley, B. Johnson, Methany, Russo, Schulte, Sears, Stainback, Wensloff, etc. Manager Joe McCarthy is deemed Clubhouse. OAL (Harridge) ball has moderate to heavy soiling. Black ink signatures average a strong 7/10. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA (AG02548).
