The 1929 Yankees finished second in the A.L. behind Connie Mack's stacked Philadelphia A’s squad, ending New York’s run at a third straight World Series title. The shocking death of manager Miller Huggins at the age of 51 near the end of the regular season was a far more devastating blow to the franchise.  This exquisite OAL (Barnard) blue and red stitched ball holds 22 autographs (8 Hall of Famers) highlighted by a striking Babe Ruth on the sweet spot and a lovely Lou Gehrig on the north panel, both appearing 7/10 in strength with even better eye appeal. Fellow "Murderer's Row" battery mates Tony Lazzeri (HOF), Mark Koenig, Earle Combs (HOF) and Bob Meusel are found on the south, west and north panels, respectively.

Other notables include Herb Pennock (HOF), Bill Dickey (HOF), Leo Durocher (HOF), Waite Hoyt (HOF), Pipgras, Wells, Durst, Zachary, Robertson, Bengough, Grabowski, Sherid, Moore, Lary, Heimach and Byrd. Signatures are done in black fountain pen averaging 6/10 and there is not a single "Clubhouse" on this ball. The creamy ball is lightly and evenly toned and remains well-preserved and Shellac-free in EM/NM shape. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG03995).
