"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It was with these words, at exactly 10:56 pm EDT on July 20, 1969, that astronaut Neil Armstrong (Commander) literally walked into the history books by becoming the first man to ever set foot on the moon. He was joined on that mission by fellow Apollo 11 crewmates "Buzz" Aldrin (Lunar Module Pilot) and Mike Collins (Command Module Pilot). This magnificent 10” by 10” color photograph captures the moment Apollo 11 launched these three American heroes on their historic mission to the moon. Each has signed the photo (all 8-9/10) in purple marker.

The Apollo 11 was the first manned lunar landing mission ever undertaken and its success at the time was hailed as the greatest scientific achievement in mankind's history. It also culminated a long and arduous race with the Soviet Union for space superiority. This photo was officially produced by NASA and features both the organization's printed mark on the top left margin. Near Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA
