One of the most exciting players of his generation, Ken Griffey Jr. played the first half of his 22 MLB seasons in Seattle where he was an All-Star eight straight seasons and led the American League in homers four times. In 1997, “The Kid” was an easy choice for AL MVP with 56 HR, 147 RBI, and a .304 batting average. His 630 career Home Runs place him 7th on the all-time list. The 13-time All Star, 10-time Gold Glove centerfielder and 7-time Silver Slugger recipient was a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 2016.

Presented here is a terrific Griffey Jr. gamer from his '97 MVP season. The black Louisville Slugger C271 professional model ash bat with a cupped end remains uncracked and shows excellent evidence of use. Ball marks and stitch impressions as well as cleat marks cover the barrel. The handle has been taped in Junior's preferred criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. Griffey has signed the front barrel in shiny 9-10/10 silver paint pen with "Game Used 97" inscribed. As a bonus, the lot includes a Griffey single signed OAL (Budig) baseball done in 8/10 blue ink. Awesome combo.

Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU 8.5). Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
