It's hard to imagine that the Golden State Warriors, who finished 73-9 to break the Bulls' regular-season win mark in 2015-16, could get any better. But after a disappointing loss to the Cavaliers in the 2016 Finals, that's exactly what happened. The signing of Kevin Durant brought together three of the most prolific shooters and scorers in the league, stabilized on D by the hustle and bustle of Draymond Green, their so-called "heartbeat." Yet, even with the addition of KD, the glue that holds the team together and keeps the Dubs flowing in true harmony is Stephen Curry. Presented here is a pair of Steph's signature model Under Armour sneakers that he sported for Warriors Media Day on Sept. 26, 2016, as well as during preseason action leading up to 2016-17 season tip-off. The mostly white colorway 'Curry 3' lows appear to come in Steph's standard size 12.5, but there is no Under Armour size tagging inside. The non-flashy design features hard plastic foot stabilizers on each side in a reflective black and gray checkered pattern; the inner ones have Steph's facsimile signature. His patented "SC/30" logo is emblazoned on the sides, insoles and heels, with his trademark 'I CAN DO ALL THINGS" bible verse stamped on the lower heel. The unique lacing design keeps the tongues locked to one side, perhaps for better ankle support that Curry so desperately needs with his sneakers. The shoes display moderate usage, the mot obvious signs being their heel drag and light scuff marks on the exterior. Steph has autographed the right shoe over the toes in 9/10 black marker, and he has inscribed the left shoe in the same area with "2017 NBA Champs." This inscription came after the season through his new memorabilia partner, Steiner Sports.
The Dubs were not quite as dominant during the 2016-17 regular season, but they had a much easier time in the playoffs, sweeping the Western Conference 12-0 before dethroning the Cavs four games to one in the Finals.
