In 1997-98 point guard Allen Iverson, playing in his second season for the Philadelphia 76ers, averaged 22 points per game. This lot features a pair of Iverson’s game worn and signed Reebok ‘Answer 1’ shoes. Originally released in '97, these were Allen Iverson's second signature model sneakers with Reebok. They featured a concealed lace system and Iverson's logo on the heel, and in recent years have been retroed many times in various colorways.
The inside of the tongue reveals a tribute to Iverson’s 1996-97 Rookie of the Year campaign in which he averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. The white leather shoes feature red, gold and black trim and both shoes sport a unique “I” and “3” logo that incorporates the first letter of his last name and his uniform number. The size 11 sneakers display solid wear and Iverson signed the outside of the right shoe in gold marker. Awesome pair worn by a first-ballot Hall of Famer with impeccable player-direct provenance.
