The late Wayman Tisdale was a dominant force in college at the University of Oklahoma, earning three straight Consensus First Team All-America selections. Drafted #2 overall by the Indiana Pacers, the 6' 9" power forward competed in the NBA for 13 seasons. When he finally hung up his shoes following the 1996-97 season, he had career averages of 15.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He played five and a half seasons for the Sacramento Kings, which is where the offered jersey and shoes presented here originated.

This lot features Tisdale’s 1990-91 Sacramento Kings game worn home jersey along with a pair of his game worn and dual-signed Avia shoes. The white mesh jersey, which exhibits light wear, has the proper "Champion [size] 42" manufacturer’s tag on the front left tail, positioned next to a separate tag reading “Custom Designed & Sewn for Sacramento Kings” and “YEAR 90, SLEEVE LENGTH 0 and BODY LENGTH +3.” The front of the jersey reads “Kings” across the front in blue on red tackle twill outlined in red, followed just below it with his uniform number “23” in similar fashion. The NBA’s official red, white and blue embroidered logo appears on the left shoulder area. Tisdale signed the front of the jersey in blue marker and added “Best Wishes” and “23” as part of his autograph. The reverse reads “TISDALE” across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill followed underneath by his uniform number “23” in blue on red tackle twill.

The game worn and dual-signed white and blue Avia/Reebok shoes (size 16) exhibit extensive wear throughout with scuff marks sprinkled about and the sole on both shoes showing some serious mileage with various cracks. The tongue on both shoes reads “Reverse JAM” in raised blue lettering. Tisdale signed both shoes in fine point blue marker and added “Best Wishes,” “23” and “Kings 90-91” between his autographs on the left shoe and “Best Wishes” and “23” on the right shoe. An affable teammate and talented jazz musician, Tisdale succumbed to bone cancer in 2009 at the tender age of 44.
