Mickey Johnson was a 6’ 10” journeyman power forward who played for five different NBA teams during the course of his 14-year career. From the 1980-81 season until he was traded to the New Jersey Nets during the 1982-83 season he was competing for the Milwaukee Bucks. This lot features a Milwaukee Bucks game worn shooting shirt that’s been attributed to Johnson from the 1981-82 season, a campaign in which he averaged 12.9 points and six rebounds per contest.

The tri-color (white, black and green) short-sleeve shooting shirt reads “BUCKS” across the chest in green tackle twill outlined in red. The mid-section of the shirt is multi-striped. The underside of the front of the shirt, next to the bottom two snaps, shows the proper Sand Knit manufacturer’s tagging. One reads “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Milwaukee Bucks” and the other reveals [Size] “44” with washing instructions. A “43” has been handwritten in black marker on the second tag. All six original snap buttons remain intact. The NOB and nameplate has been removed from the back, so we can only attribute this warm-up shooting shirt to Johnson. It shows evident wear throughout.
