In 2010, the San Francisco Giants won their first World Series since 1954, and their first since relocating to San Francisco from New York City in 1958. The team’s starting catcher that season was N.L. Rookie of the Year Buster Posey, who batted .305 with 18 home runs and 67 runs batted in. In the postseason, Posey’s steady play behind the plate and .300 average helped the Giants win the Fall Classic. He would be named N.L. MVP in 2012 during the Giants' second championship season in the Bay, and helped the team get their 3rd in five seasons in 2014, with a little help from Madison Bumgarner.

This lot features Posey’s game used bat from his glorious 2010 rookie season. The 34-inch, 32-ounce black Louisville Slugger C243 pro model M9 maple bat exhibits excellent evidence of game use with several ball marks and ball stitch impressions all over the right, left and back barrel areas of the bat. Additional contact streaks are visible on the barrel from contact with other bats. There is also a moderate coat of Mota stick on the bat’s handle. The date of the bat’s manufacture (6710) is stamped on the knob, and Posey has signed the front barrel of the bat in silver marker and added the inscription “GU 10” to indicate its game use and year.

Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with a perfect GU 10 grade. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
