The American League led the 1957 All-Star Game at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis from start to finish. But the National League certainly put up a fight. Gus Bell's two-run double in the seventh cut the NL's deficit to one. Then in the top of the ninth, the NL used back-to-back triples from Stan Musial and Willie Mays to score three more times. But the Senior Circuit fell one run short in a 6-5 defeat.
Presented here is an exceptionally high-grade OAL (Harridge) baseball signed by 27 members of the 1957 AL All-Star squad. Hall of Famers include Mickey Mantle (SS), Casey Stengel, Early Wynn, Al Kaline, Yogi Berra, Jim Bunning and Nellie Fox. Autographs are mostly 8-9/10 on a slightly off-white ball that appears like new.
