The 1928 New York Yankees picked up right where they left off the previous fall, repeating as World Series Champions. Additions to the team included two future Hall of Famers, a mouthy young rookie shortstop named Leo Durocher and veteran spitballer Stan Covaleski. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and company won the pennant by 2.5 games over Connie Mack's surging Philadelphia Athletics, then completely destroyed the Cardinals in a four-game sweep in the Fall Classic.

22 members of this dominant Bronx Bombers squad have signed this Official Partridge League ball in brilliant blue fountain pen. There are an astounding nine Hall of Famers including Ruth (7/10), Gehrig (7/10), Miller Huggins (7/10, their beloved manager who would die of the flu the following season), Herb Pennock, Bill Dickey, Waite Hoyt, Earle Combs, Coveleski and Durocher. Bob Meusel, Benny Bengough, Pat Collins, Joe Dugan, Mike Gazella, Mark Koenig, Wilcy Moore, Ben Paschal, George Pipgras, Myles Thomas, Cedric Durst, Harry Johnson and Gene Robertson round out the rest of the autographs, which average 7-8/10. There are no clubhouse signatures to speak of. The lightly soiled ball (EX) with a little spot toning has a few scuff marks, but this does not detract from the high quality of the autographs, which pop beautifully on the white leather surface.
