Prior to the start of the 1972-73 NHL season, the Chicago Blackhawks were dealing with the unexpected departure of one of their most iconic players, Bobby Hull, who signed with the Winnipeg Jets in the newly created WHL for the first $1 million contract in hockey history. Despite the loss of Hull, the Blackhawks got off to a quick start of the season, winning their first four games, before sliding into a slump that saw their record fall to 7-7-2. They would break out of their slump, and win 14 of their next 18 games, and take hold of the top spot in the West Division. The Hawks then cruised to their fourth straight first-place finish, as they had a record of 42-27-9, earning 93 points. This lot features defenseman Doug Jarrett's 1972-73 Chicago Blackhawks game-worn jersey as evidenced by the distinctive combination of the single color black twill numbers and the crossover black-and-red collar. Jarrett chipped in a pair of goals and 11 assists in 49 regular-season games that season.

The white pullover jersey exhibits incredible usage with multiple (10) team repairs, rips and fraying throughout. The V-neck jersey is minus any manufacturer's tags although outlines of two former tags remain in the collar. It does boast the Blackhawks double-tomahawks embroidered logo on either shoulder as well as actual blood stains from collisions on the ice and perhaps a few fisticuffs during the season. Across the front is the Blackhawks Indian Head logo in red, green, black, yellow, orange, blue and white chenille embroidery. Across the back is his uniform number "4" in faded black tackle twill. On each sleeve is the player number "4" in faded black tackle twill. On each shoulder is the Chicago “C” with tomahawks logo in yellow, green, red and black chenille embroidery. Two black strips and one red strip in the middle adorn both sleeves. A classic NHL gamer from one of the most exciting decades in the sport's rich history.
