Presented here is a scarce on-site fight poster (23” by 33”) of Muhammad Ali vs. Karl Mildenberger from September 10, 1966. This poster was produced for display on the streets of Frankfurt where Ali continued his world tour of title defenses after victories in Toronto and London. The first world heavyweight bout ever held in Germany took place
at the now defunct Walstadion in Frankfurt with Ali winning by a TKO in
the 12th round. In 1973, Ali said Mildenberger was his most difficult
opponent to date. The German language poster features the bold text style of the German national aesthetic. The poster is in overall EX-MT/NM condition with light handling and a few tack holes at the corners.
