Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is one of the most talented and
polarizing players in the NFL. In 2014, just his second season as a pro, he
tallied a whopping 171 tackles to lead the league and earn a trip to the Pro
Bowl. Nobody can dispute his ability; it’s his on-field antics that many question.
In addition to being one of the top tacklers, he is also one of the dirtiest
players who gets fined as much as anyone for late hits and unsportsmanlike
conduct. Football is a dangerous game, and even more so when Burfict is roaming
the field. A standout in college at Arizona State, Burfict was an All-America
selection in 2010 as a sophomore. Presented here is his game-worn Sun Devils
helmet sported during his freshman and sophomore seasons at ASU.
The Riddell helmet in size L has a gold shell with the Sun Devil logo decal
on each side and a maroon stripe over the middle. “DEVILS” adorns the forehead.
The rear has a Riddell neck pad with four decals above: Burfict’s No. “7”, “PAC
10”, the USA flag and a warning label. The original facemask and chinstrap are
present as are both Velcro-on ear pads. “Riddell 06-09” and “Burfict” are
labeled inside the earholes. The interior has the original suspension padding
plus an additional customized padding system. The helmet shows outstanding game
use with contact marks all over the shell and one large paint-chipped area.
Burfict has signed both sides with his number “7” inscribed.
