In 2009, his first season playing in the City of Brotherly Love, the electric and polarizing Michael Vick donned this Philadelphia Eagles game-worn road jersey. Having been banned from the NFL for two years and served 21 months in prison for his role in the notorious dog fighting ring, Vick was given a second chance to become Donovan McNabb's backup. The Eagles went 11-5 as Vick played sporadically, rushing for 95 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for 86 yards and a score. Coach Andy Reid used him in each game as a change of pace, "Wildcat" option or decoy. In 2010, after McNabb was traded, Vick took over the starting job following an injury to Kevin Kolb and performed exceptionally well, going 8-3 as the Eagles' starter and throwing for a career-high 21 touchdowns and over 3,000 yards passing, while rushing for another nine scores. He earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and won the Bert Bell and Comeback Player of the Year Awards. Better yet, Michael Vick showed signs that he was rehabilitated and had finally conquered his demons as a man. His off-the-field and charitable work since has kept him on the right path to redemption, for those who believe in second chances.
The white jersey is sporting the proper “Reebok” manufacturer’s tagging on the inside left front tail with a pair of flag tags reading size “46” and “6” L.B.” “2012”. Below the inner rear collar are two white strip tags reading “09-46” and “S” in black. On the V-neck is the official “NFL” logo embroidered in red, white, blue and silver. Adjacent below reads “EAGLES” embroidered in black and white. Across the front, on back and on each shoulder is the player number “7” in midnight green on charcoal on black tackle twill. On each sleeve is the Philadelphia “Eagle” logo embroidered in black, white, midnight green and silver sparkle. Adjacent above each is the Reebok logo embroidered in black. Vick has signed the “7” on the back in silver marker with the added inscription “GAME JERSEY.” The Jersey features custom sleeve darting. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows moderate use.
