Offered here are two pairs of footwear worn by perennial All-Pro defensive back Rod Woodson from his personal collection. The 11-time Pro Bowler had 71 career interceptions (third-most in NFL history) in his outstanding 17-year career spent primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009 on his very first ballot.

First off is Rod’s Nike Air black and white high-top turf shoes. They come in size 12 and are properly tagged in the interior with a “940810” manufacturing date. Rod’s No. “26” is penned in black marker on both heels. Game use is evident inside and out, and the midsoles have begun to crack a bit from aging. It appears that Woodson may have split the upper heels for display purposes. The Steelers wore turf shoes on the hard surface of their home field at Three Rivers Stadium, and these shoes appear to be photo-matched (Getty 146476674) to a 16-13 victory vs Miami on 11/20/1994. Woodson has signed over the big toe of the left shoe in 9/10 black Sharpie. The right shoe has an incorrect inscription on the outer toes that reads “Game Worn vs Bills 1993”. Based on the manufacturing date of Aug. ’94, it would seem that Woodson meant to inscribe “1994” as the Steelers defeated Buffalo 11/14/94 (Monday Night Football) by the score of 23-10 thanks to Rod’s 37-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The second pair is Woodson’s 2002 NFL Pro Bowl practice-worn and signed cleats. The red and white Nike cleats come in size 13 show excellent practice use with scuffing and grass stains. Each shoe has a custom built in heel pad and with his No. “26” again penned in black on the heel. Rod earned a trip to Honolulu following a stellar 2001 regular season with the Baltimore Ravens in which he recorded three interceptions (1 returned for TD), a forced fumble and recovery, and 67 tackles while playing free safety. On the toes of the right shoe in 9/10 black marker is his autograph and “2002 Pro Bowl practice” inscription. From a guy known for his world-class sprinter’s speed, these are great game-used mementos to own.

LOA from Rod Woodson. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
