The penultimate moment of George Blanda’s 26 year career was his enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. This is the plaque awarded to Blanda on August 1st, 1981 when he took his rightful place among the greats of the game. The 10 1/2” x 13 1/2” plaque has the Professional Football Hall of Fame’s official proclamation of Blanda’s election protected by a glass panel secured to the wood base. The proclamation has been signed in black felt pen by Hall of fame president Earl Schreiber. 27 of Blanda’s fellow greats have signed his commemorative Wilson football, including Y.A. Tittle, Willie Davis, Ace Parker, Red Badgro, Marion Motley, Dan Fortmann, Ray Nitschke, Night Train Lane, Lou Groza and of course, George Blanda. The signatures are in ball point and felt tipped pen and remain strong against the white leather ball. The ball shows light toning from age and display and the plaque shows slight edge wear from age. LOA from the Blanda Family. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
