This small collection of personal notes display the high regard and respect the giants of the game held George Blanda. The oldest piece in the lot is a hand written letter from Lamar Hunt which includes the program from the 101 Award presentation in 1971. Hunt’ note is hand written and signed “Lamar” in black felt tip pen on Kansas City Chiefs note paper. The note has been paper clipped to the program for years so there is slight staining of the page and the usual edge wear. A second 1973 dated note from Hunt mention’s Blanda’s upcoming milestone and includes the original mailing envelope. The last two letters congratulate Blanda on his final retirement from the game in 1976. A type written letter from Bart Starr is on Green Bay Packers letterhead and is signed in bold black marker “Bart”. The second congratulatory letter is from NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle and is type written on official NFL letterhead and signed “Pete” in black pen. Both type written letters have mailing creases with light toning. The Rozelle letter has two staple holes in the top edge. LOA from the Blanda Family. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
