It’s a nod to the esteem in which George Blanda’s clutch kicking and quarterbacking was regarded in 1970 that it was he, not the NY Knicks with their first Championship, Dock Ellis’ LSD influenced no-hitter or Joe Frazier’s undisputed World Heavyweight Title that earned the “Top Performer Award” from Sport Magazine. The plaque measures 12” x 15” and has an engraved plaque reading “SPORT MAGAZINE Top Performer in Pro Football George Blanda 1970” flanked by two chrome eagles. The plaque shows slight wear and scuffing from storage. LOA from the Blanda Family.
