As the “club pro” and most dependable man in the Raiders organization, George Blanda was justly honored with these two awards from the Oakland Raiders Boosters. The first dates to 1969 and acknowledges Blanda’s decade of excellence in the AFL since its inception in 1960. The 10” x 15” wooden plaque has a Raiders logo mounted on black velvet on the left side and an engraved plaque on the right listing Blanda’s decade of accomplishments. The award shows good wear from age including some separation of the velvet from the wood base and corner wear. The second award is dated 1970 and was given to Blanda because he “BEST EXEMPLIFIES THE PRIDE POISE AND SPIRIT OF THE OAKLAND RAIDERS. The 10” x 15” wooden plaque has a Raiders logo mounted on the left side and an engraved plaque on the right listing Blanda’s 1970 accomplishments. The award shows good wear from age including a small chip in the wood frame to the right of the Raiders logo and some corner wear. LOA from the Blanda Family.
