From the George Blanda collection, an early and scarce 1949-58 Chicago Bears complete run of (10) original team photos. All team photos appear to be wire photos except for 1952, which is a color reprint. Nearly all are 8” x 10” and in EX-MT/NM condition. Additionally, this lot includes 27 black and white 1950’s player photos, all 8” x 10” in NM condition, with a classic wire photo of Blanda kicking. As a member of the Bears, Blanda was resigned mostly to kicking and punting duties under the direction of George "Papa Bear" Halas. There are three player photos signed in blue and black ink with a 9/10 for strength and clarity. Included signatures and inscriptions are “To George, A wonderful football player, true sportsman and true friend. Sincerely John Dottley” by Dottley. Also “To Geo. Best Wishes - Steve Romanik” by Romanik and “To George Best Wishes and lots of luck Sincerely - Wash Serini” by Serini.
